HONOLULU – OCTOBER 11, 2022 – Hickam Federal Credit Union held a Foodbank Fundraiser and Food Drive from August 1, 2022 through September 30, 2022. This is the third consecutive annual fundraiser that Hickam FCU has participated in with the Hawaii Credit Union Coalition. The greatest reason that Hickam FCU continues to support this fundraiser is because of how Hawai’i Foodbank’s mission (“Nourish our ‘ohana”) resonates with Hickam FCU’s Core Values of Caring, Integrity, and Commitment.
This year, Hickam FCU set out with a goal of $5,000 and 500 pounds of food. This was an ambitious goal that surpassed the previous two years. By the end of the fundraiser, $7,500 was raised and 20 boxes (approximately 500 pounds) of food was collected. Even in times of economic uncertainty, the Hickam FCU community was able to raise 150% of the initial goal. In total, the resources collected will provide for over 15,000 meals. We thank our Board of Directors, staff, and members for helping us exceed our goals and for stepping up to help our island community in times of need.
